GenAI Project: Personalized Interfaces using GenUI

COLLABORATORS & PROJECT PEERS: Product Management, Engineering, UX Team Leads

& Executive Stakeholders

The Goal

AI-Customized Interfaces Tailored to User Needs

A "generative UI" (genUI) is a user interface that is dynamically generated in real time by artificial intelligence to provide an experience customized to fit the user’s needs and context.

User Stories

I sketched out a quick user story storyboard with stick figure mockups and explanatory notes.

(Note: the font  is "Chalkboard" not Comic Sans 😄)

Impact-Effort Matrix

Working with the PM, I created an Impact-Effort matrix, which was a quick way to evaluate the potential impact and effort of ideas before committing to them.

AI Generated Graphics

Another idea I’m exploring involves using AI to generate graphics based on account or contact information. I utilized Adobe Illustrator’s* Text to Vector Graphic GenAI to create both photo-realistic and graphic illustration styles. Alternatively, users can upload their own photos for a personalized touch.

Planning
Slides

Collaborating closely with the Product Manager, I contributed to developing detailed slides for the software development plan. This included outlining key milestones, feature priorities, and timelines to ensure alignment across teams and a clear roadmap for updates.

Work in
Progress

A rough Figma prototype showing how a dynamic, custom interface could be generated in real-time for a specific end user. In this case, the user is checking on their account, which GAI has produced insights for the account, contacts, cases and opportunities. The user can filter the results and drill down into each AI summary.

User
Interviews

We conducted several user interviews, and this particular one provided valuable insights that helped refine and focus our direction.

 Layouts

Based on user feedback, I am exploring Google Material 3 card patterns for layouts and experimenting with simplified, color-coded module icons for each card, as well as some graphical elements in the background to add a little more visual interest.
I'm currenty doing some A/B Testing on the bottom screenshot.

Still Iterating

This ongoing project will be updated with new iterations, showcasing improvements in functionality, usability, and design as it evolves. Stay tuned for future developments.

Sprint Week's Hackathon sparks fresh ideas, speeds development, and unites colleagues. It’s a great way to get creative, test out new features, and break through silos—all while having fun and boosting team spirit.

Progress, not
Perfection.
